Winter is a time to stay in and snuggle up with a warm blanket, hot chocolate and pizza, however, for couples, you can’t do this for 3 months straight! One of you is bound to fall asleep halfway through a Netflix show and you won’t be able to connect as a couple.

So to spice things up, we have 5 great winter date ideas that you and your partner can do during the cold months and have fun together!

SNOW TRIP

If you haven’t enjoyed a trip away together in a while, you can both enjoy a weekend snow trip! Staying in a lodge with the fire going is the epitome of romance – add a glass of wine and you have the perfect couples getaway. Don’t forget to get out into the snow and get active!

COOKING CLASS

Food makes the world go ‘round! Or is that love? Regardless, we all love good food. Attending a cooking class together not only keeps you out of the cold, but you’ll also both get to learn a brand new skill and some great recipes together that you can recreate at home for each other. Cooking classes are growing more and more popular – all you need to do is a quick Google search for your local cooking class!

SPA NIGHT

Who doesn’t love a spa day or night? You don’t even need to leave the house and spend money on a couples spa package, you can recreate it all in the comfort of your own home. Turn the lights down low, light some scented candles and pour some wine to set a romantic and relaxing atmosphere. Run a nice hot bath and you can give each other messages!

COMEDY SHOW

Have lots of laughs with your loved one by attending a comedy show! There are comedians that are constantly doing shows all over Australia that you can watch. Amateur and open mics are also fun to watch where you can let go of any stress and just laugh.

BACKYARD CAMPING

Camping in your backyard is the best to do in winter. You don’t have to sleep in the cold but you can do pretty much anything camp related outdoors and go to bed in the comfort of your own bedroom! Make a little fire and eat some marshmallows as you tell each other ghost stories or simply soak in each other’s presence.
